Lezanne and I met for the first time in 2015 when a good friend of mine convinced me to come meet this beautiful South African girl, who happened to be the sister of the girl he was interested in; we joked that we could be brothers in law one day. It was safe to say that when I met Lezanne, I was interested from the start. She on the other hand would take a bit more convincing to date this scrawny, younger beach bum.

Over the course of the next year, we would catch up for walks and coffees along with seeing each other at gatherings of mutual friends, however we never took it any further. It was around this time I was getting started in my career and I moved to the Northern Territory. Over the next few years we both went on with our lives. Lezanne continued to teach and live in Adelaide.

We both grew from life experiences, had relationships and saw different parts of the world. Yet despite living very separate lives we thought of each other often and there was part of me that knew Lezanne was the one for me.

A long story short, despite that time apart our lives crossed paths again in late 2021. Things were different this time and our friendship was rekindled. That eventually lead to a relationship, and in April of 2023 after a well executed plan with the help of my sister and brother in law, I proposed to the unsuspecting Lezanne. And as you know, she said yes.

That friend of mine, Aric is now married to Lezanne's sister. And in April we will in fact become brothers in Law.
